Macros
Most layouts only need individual accessories at first. Use this page when you want one tap in Control to set several points and signals together — for example “set the yard road” or “clear for the main”.
What a macro is
A macro is a named combination of accessories. Macros appear at the top of the Control accessories list so you can fire several commands in one tap.
This is not automatic route setting. Routes that follow trains and sensors will be documented in a later chapter.
Open macros on the Panels DCC website
Creating a macro
- Click Create New Macro.
- Give it a name and, if you like, a short description.
- Select the accessories that belong in the group.
- For each state combination, choose the position each accessory should take.
- Save. Location is filled in later from which panels use those accessories — it may be blank until a panel exists.

Prefer giving each accessory its own DCC number and using macros to group them, rather than sharing one address across many items. That keeps the DCC audit table clear and makes macros easier to maintain.
